Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) has been forced to take its entire digital network offline due to a cyberattack detected late Saturday evening. This decision has disrupted educational activities, with no classes scheduled for Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Here’s the latest information:
Patrick Groothuis, Vice President of TU/e, stated: “We’re working systematically to secure the network and gradually bring systems back online. Our top priority is restoring education systems.” TU/e’s ICT experts are working diligently, but the systems won’t be operational by Tuesday.
Education Impact: No lectures or educational activities will take place on Tuesday. The university is exploring alternatives, especially with exams starting next week.
Research and PhD Defenses: Non-network-related research and PhD defenses can continue as scheduled. Labs and facilities remain functional and safe.
