Tewkesbury Borough Council is facing significant service disruptions after a recent cyber attack. As a result, many council services are currently unavailable, and the council is advising residents to only reach out if it’s absolutely necessary.
The council took immediate action on Wednesday afternoon by shutting down its systems to manage the situation. This was part of their planned response to protect against further damage. An investigation is ongoing, and the council is working closely with national cybersecurity experts and fraud prevention agencies to resolve the issue.
“We expect delays with many of our services, and our phone lines are likely to be extremely busy,” a council spokesperson said.
Residents and local businesses are encouraged to be patient during this time, as the council works to restore services as quickly as possible.
