The World Bank is looking to help Cameroon strengthen its cyebersecurity to boost online transactions. They have announced an open call for experts to offer their assistance in this project, and proposals are accepted until August 12.

What Experts Are Needed?

They are seeking professionals with experience in:

  • Cybersecurity policy consulting
  • Assessing cybersecurity skills and capacity gaps
  • Developing trust frameworks
  • Handling e-transactions and e-signatures
  • Setting up public key infrastructure

Goals of the Project

The main aim is to update Cameroon’s National Cybersecurity Strategy, which was last revised in 2018. The project also aims to:

  • Enhance the skills of individuals and organizations to deal with cyber threats
  • Create a safer environment for online transactions by improving regulations for e-signatures and building a solid public key infrastructure

Tasks for the Consulting Firm

The consulting firm will:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of Cameroon’s digital infrastructure
  • Provide clear and actionable policy recommendations
  • Organize workshops, either in-person or virtual, for government officials to build their cybersecurity knowledge

Selection Criteria

The World Bank will select a firm based on:

  • The firm’s primary business and track record
  • Expertise in the relevant field
  • Technical and managerial capabilities
  • Qualifications of the team members

This initiative aims to build a trustworthy digital environment in Cameroon, encouraging more secure online transactions.
